With busy lifestyles that cause lack of sleep, poor diet, stress and anxiety, headaches are all too common. Even the weather can play a role. Many people suffer from chronic headaches. The most common type of headache is a migraine. Migraines are persistent, often reoccurring, headaches that can last from a couple of hours to a couple of days. Migraines are not biased. What to Expect: When your doctor says you need a CT Scan

The Basics A CT Scan (computerized tomography) or CAT (computed axial tomography) is a noninvasive, painless procedure that uses X-Rays in combination with computer technology to produce high-resolution images of the inside of the body. The images produced display the body’s bones, blood vessels and soft tissue organs, in much greater detail than standard X-Rays. This allows doctors to visually, assess the severity of an injury or illness. CT Scanners use an X-Ray technique that creates cross-sectional images, often called slices (think of a sliced loaf of bread).
