Tis the Season – For Cough, Cold and Congestion That Is

Written by Roy Champion, CPEC RN As the weather gets colder and the holiday season approaches, so does the season for cough, cold, and congestion.  Family gatherings, get-togethers with loved ones, and of course the crowded shopping malls mean we are going to be in close proximity with one another.  And, no one wants to be sick over the holidays.  However, it is cold and flu season.  So, how do we prevent getting sick?  The answer is simple:   Wash your hands: soap & water are best but an alcohol-based rub is okay if your hands are not visibly dirty.
